Hillary Clinton Accepts Secretary of State appointment

So it hasn’t happened yet.  But I felt if I typed it, it just might come true.  What an incredible nomination that would be.  What an exciting prospect.

Ok so it isn’t just a news source, it’s also a blog (HRE)

Well, a very good friend of mine pointed out her website wasn’t just a news source, it was a blog.  It was a direct tongue in cheek hit on me.  I loved it.  And in response… I blog.

Life is going well right now.  Things with Starbucks couldn’t be better.  We’ve launched many wonderful initiatives and we’re focusing on doing what we can this holiday season to make the lives of people all over the world better.  Nothing different than what we normally do.  So work is awesome.  Everyday I meet new and exciting people and I connect with an awesome team of store managers who are a pleasure to know.  I get to spend time with my store team, which is by far the icing on the cake.

Family life is great too.  My parents have settled in at Mountain Home, AR and from what I hear, by neice loves having her grandparents around.  I envy that.  I wish I’d have known my grandparents longer.  I’m happy for her and for my parents.  Life is good for Andy and I in Sikeston, MO.  I’m growing closer to my friend Natalie and life is going well.  I’m planning an incredible Thanksgiving feast for Natalie and I, as Andy will be having Thanksgiving with his parents.  I’m still settling into the day to day of living with someone and what that means, but it’s working; it’s a working progress.

And as far as me, life is great.  I’ve been relaxing and spending time looking reconnecting with many people who mean the world to me.  Through Facebook especially, I’ve had some great times these past few months.  And I’m so thankful for that this time of year.  I don’t know that I’ve ever really taken stock of what I’m thankful for.  Sure, I’ve recited it as we went around the Thanksgiving table, but I don’t know that it has ever truely resonated with me.  This year I feel it.

I feel it because I know it can all be gone.  And I’m Thankful it’s not.

No news here… Just blogging.

Vote… Who’d make the better President?

Why the Republicans chose Sarah Palin…

If you’re wondering why the Republicans, why John McCain chose Sarah Palin, I’ll tell you.

At one point weeks ago, the Republicans realized they’ve lost this election.  John McCain was not in a position to win the White House.  They also realized their party was a generation or two away from dieing.  New life was not being breathed into the party.  These whammies and the fact the congressional races didn’t look to be going their way either.  They needed something.

They needed something that would get them some attention.  They needed something that would energize the base.  They needed to act and act quickly.  They needed something or someone that would take the lights off Barack Obama.  That someone was Sarah Palin.

And their plan worked.

Almost immediately an acceptance speech at the DNC was yesterday’s news.  The new girl made sure of that.

For all her blunders and winks, she’s no different than Joe Bidden (who makes his own blunders and very possibly isn’t even capable of winking.)  She’s not all that bad.  She’s actually quite good.  Good at being what the Republicans needed her to be:  the energy to bring the Republicans back into conversation and back into the news.  She’s done this quite well.

It’s where the Republicans and Sarah Palin go from here that will prove their salt.  They’ve built as much raw energy as they can.  Now comes the refining process.  Take the energy and put it to use.

They chose Sarah Palin because they didn’t want to die.

Welcome to Blogging…

This is a shout out to the Holy Roman Empire (she knows who she is.)

I would like to point out that mine is not a blog.  It is a legitimate news source.  I like to think of my site as a sister site to CNN, MSNBC, and AC360.  I’m an I-Reporter too!

Serioulsy though… I’m glad you’re here and I’m glad you’re you.  I’m glad you’re reading and I’m glad you’re chatting, and I’m glad you’re smiling and I’m glad you make me smile.  And I’m glad for your sake that I’m tired and won’t go on right now….

Hope your girlfriend weekend was fun, relaxing, and laughs were had!

Talk to you sooon!

The U.S. Econonmy and the “Right” Choice in November

It’s a lot to absorb, quite a bit to take in.  The current financial state of our country is dire.  We’re contemplating the largest bailout in history.  We’re considering ways to save our economy by increasing the deficit limit.  We hear about the ideas being tossed around, everyone has their own solution.  We cannot seem to reach a consensus.  Inevitably it will be a few that will make this critical decision for the many.

Such is the way of life.

Many Americans don’t even begin to understand the problem, much less how to solve it.  They cannot put into words what caused this situation but Americans know the symptoms.  We’ve felt the foreclosures, we’ve seen the stacks of bills which cannot be paid, and we’re hoping the lay-off is temporary.  No, we don’t know exactly what caused this, everyone has their own donkey to pin, but we do know our families, our homes and our way of life are at risk.

And it all comes at such a critical time.  We’re weeks away from choosing the next President of the United States.  For me, it’s not about the two men running for the highest office in our government; for me, it’s the platforms on which they stand.  It’s the judges they’ll appoint to the Supreme Court.  I’m more concerned with whom these men will surround themselves.  For me, it’s about the future.

It’s about our way of life.

What an incredible opportunity for us as Americans.  We can come out of this stronger, wiser and hopefully, more fiscally sound.  In the greatest struggles are the most savored victories.  In this time of uncertainty, we have the chance to build a solid foundation.  It’s not always going to be exactly as we think it should be.  The “right” person might not win the election.  But the “right” people can.

The “right” people are me and you, the citizens of this country.  The man you support might not get the most votes, but hopefully the conviction and the determination to solve these problems in our country, our economy will.
